Our February half term party was a big success!
Children, young people & parents and carers were given the chance to play with their ideas about the future of Hackney, be entertained by Potty Patrick the clown, eat delicious food, sing, dance, run and jump around! Some parents even had a bit of quiet Reiki time as well. Thanks to everyone who came along and made the day so much fun.

New Playgrounds for Hackney!
We have been contacted by Matt Davies from the Learning Trust, with some exciting news. Hackney is designing and building 16 new play areas in
estates & parks around the borough and the
designers want to consider the needs of children with disabilities. They particularly want the direct participation of children. The Learning Trust is also keen to select a few sites at suitable
locations where they can provide extra play
provision sensitive to the needs of disabled
children.
The consultation period for this is throughout the summer.
Contact Matt Davies on 07971 131373 for more
details or if you and your child have opinions on play equipment!

Disability Backup Update
Disability Backup is continuing to grow and develop its disability forum. Last month we visited Hackney Museum to let them know how accessible we found it. As a result of this meeting Hackney Museum would like to develop a special sensory exhibition that we will help design.
Disability Backup is also holding a consultation day for disabled people to consult and inform people about health services for disabled people. This event is on the 26th June and open to disabled people aged 18-64 years old. Contact Sebastian on 0207 275 0088 ext 210 for more information.
